There are times when we may feel like our backs are against the wall with no way out. The thought of having to fight the giants of life in order to move forward can be intimidating. This is when the enemy comes and speaks words of fear and doubt, he says, "You will never make it."  He is a liar and the father of lies. It doesn't matter what the circumstances look like and what the devil says. The important thing is what God’s Word says.

Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, He who promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:23 ). Our victory was bought with the price of Jesus’ Blood. We, therefore, are protected by the blood of Christ and because of this protection Satan cannot have dominion over us. Stand strong, soon he will back down in defeat.

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37

Just because we have been freed from sin by the grace and power of the Holy Spirit, does not mean that it’ll stop rearing its ugly head in our lives.

Our enemy is relentless in the war that he wages on our master.

He stops at nothing to breaks us down and keep us down until his time is up. As long as we reside on this planet, we will be at war with the enemy of our souls.

Becoming saved through Jesus did not make us immune to sin, but its enemy.

Now that our eyes have been opened to the spiritual realities of this world, the enemy will stop at nothing to make sure we don’t any spiritual impact for the Lord.

When God gains a new solider, the enemy gains a new opponent.

When God gives the victory over a certain sin of our lives, you best believe that the devil will use it to tempt us at any chance he gets.

Whether it be gluttony, pride, wrathful anger, lust, greed, or what have you, the enemy will make sure of your past mistakes, and try to drag you back you your old way of life (I know from experience).

However, we must press on.

While the enemy reminds us of our past, he tries to blind us to our present, to our salvation in Jesus.

The enemy tries to look at our future with contempt, rather than hope and peace.

So how do we fight against him? With the word of our Father.

The sword the Spirit, which is the word of God, is the only offensive part of the armor of God. The Lord’s word is meant to equip us for any battle we face, which is why we must read and mediate on it constantly and consistently.

We fight his lies with our Savior’s truth.

It’s through reminding the enemy of our freedom in Christ, and exposing his lies to the truth of God that become stronger warriors of Christ. Thus, what the enemy meant to harm us will only make us stronger in the Lord.

This is how we fight as Christians, not with physical weapons, but with spiritual truth and the hope that this world and all of its battles, are not worthy to be compared with the glory and joy that is to come.

“When we struggle with temptation, understanding how it works can be helpful. Every sin originates as a thought (James 1:14-15).
